Jim Sherwood leads our product recall and liability team, acting for insurers, suppliers and manufacturers.

Jim and his team handle domestic and international product recall, liability claims,, and coverage issues. They work across a range of industry sectors with Global Insurance Law Connect (GILC) network specialists.

Jim’s team deals with high-value fire and flood damage commercial property claims involving products designed, supplied and installed. They act in major group litigation and multi-party claims across industries. 

Jim has acted for multinational corporate clients in trading standards investigations and prosecutions. He has helped them to manage their reputational risks and mitigate damage.

An influential speaker, Jim has spoken twice at the annual Liability Underwriters Group (LUG) conference on group litigation and emerging risks in product liability. He led product recall workshops at the annual Airmic conference. He recently chaired a roundtable of senior claims managers at the London Market Claims Club on emerging risks.

Jim is a member of our international strategy team and holds several prestigious memberships:

- The British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL)’s product liability forum.
