Angela is based in our London office and, as an energy and construction insurance lawyer, she advises on coverage for claims in the UK and internationally as well as giving wording advice. Angela works closely with the firm’s global energy insurance team bringing significant sector expertise to complex coverage matters. Angela has a deep knowledge and understanding of the oil & gas (upstream, midstream and downstream) and renewables sectors and the issues which arise during the construction, operational and decommissioning phases of an asset’s life. She handles high value technical claims and gives clear legal advice which is carefully balanced with commercial considerations.
Angela has significant experience of representing insurers in litigation and arbitration, including jurisdictional disputes, but she has also frequently helped insurers to conclude far more claims amicably through settlement negotiations and mediation.
Angela is the legal advisor to the LMA’s Joint Natural Resources Committee giving advice on topical legal issues relevant to the energy market and assistance on drafting new market wordings. Angela is supporting the energy market transition with close involvement in emerging risk issues such as carbon capture (and issues concerning carbon credits) and other transitional technologies (renewable energies and battery energy storage).
