Jonathan's practice focuses on shipping, shipbuilding, commodities, international trade and logistics, and international commercial agreements. He specialises in particular in charterparty and contractual disputes, and also frequently advises clients in relation to a broad range of international commercial and logistics agreements. Jonathan also regularly advises on regulatory issues concerning the international transport of goods.

Jonathan is a Senior Associate in the firm’s Energy, Marine and Natural Resources department.

He is experienced in conducting and resolving disputes in the English High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, as well as numerous arbitrations under the LMAA, LCIA, GAFTA, FOSFA and FCC terms. 

Jonathan has acted for a range of ship owners, charterers and some of the world’s largest commodities houses in a wide variety of charterparty and sale contract disputes. He regularly advises clients when live issues arise during the transit of goods.

He has also advised a number of shipyards in significant shipbuilding and ship repair disputes concerning large commercial vessels and superyachts.

Jonathan also regularly advises some of the world’s largest banks, technology companies, logistics groups and freight forwarding companies in relation to a broad range of international commercial agreements, particularly in the logistics and freight forwarding sectors, and regulatory issues surrounding the transport of goods by sea and by land.

Jonathan also frequently assists clients with more general commercial and insurance litigation.
