Our international derivatives team advises local and international banks on all aspects of derivatives law. We advise clients on developing documentation, risk management matters, negotiating schedules and confirmations and we issue legal opinions on transactions.
Our finance lawyers advise clients all around the world on local regulations governing derivatives, for example in the Middle East where derivatives are increasingly being transacted. The market there is looking to mitigate risk and develop its understanding of these instruments. We are one of the few firms with local expertise and many years of experience in advising on derivatives. Our finance team has a particular expertise in the development of Islamic derivatives in each of the main Middle East markets.
We have a deep understanding of the issues relating to the enforceability of close-out netting under local law as well as collateralisation.
