Overview
To give clients a nuanced understanding of the main FIDIC suite of contracts, the Clyde & Co Projects & Construction team are delighted to present our new FIDIC commentary series, focusing on both the 1999 and 2017 editions of the Red, Yellow and Silver Books (the FIDIC Suite).
The series will explore each of the Clauses in the FIDIC Suite contributing incrementally to a guide to the whole Suite. Each new Clause commentary will be added to this page, so you will be able to access past and present instalments here at any time.
Since their first publication over 50 years ago, the FIDIC international standard forms of contract have been used globally on a multitude of construction projects. These contracts not only represent the collation of decades of experience in construction and engineering, they are also intended to reflect a balanced perspective, that captures the interests of both parties involved.
Clyde & Co's FIDIC Webinar Launch
Last year, to mark the launch of the first three clauses, we delivered a Clyde Commentary: Thoughts on FIDIC webinar, where partners Mary Anne Roff and David Brown were joined by guest speakers, Vincent Leloup (Chairman of the FIDIC Contracts Committee) and Tim Williams (Global Head of Dispute Management for Wärtsilä Energy) to discuss the key points from the guide and reflect on FIDIC’s application more broadly.
