Jennifer provides expert advice on high-value and complex policy and liability matters arising from road traffic accidents, employers' liability, and public liability claims, with a particular focus on serious orthopaedic injuries, brain injuries (including subtle brain injuries), fatal accidents, and amputations. She is currently assisting an Equity Partner on a claim valued at approximately GBP 20 million and is also managing several cases involving brain-injured children and adolescents.

Jennifer is skilled in facilitating early resolutions of claims through alternative dispute resolution methods, such as mediation and roundtable settlement negotiations, avoiding the need for litigation.

As an active member of Clyde and Co’s Amputation Subject Matter Group, Jennifer takes pride in staying at the forefront of technological advancements, which allows her to anticipate industry changes and provide proactive, forward-thinking advice to her clients.

Expérience

• Jennifer is currently acting for a major insurer defending a claim arising out of a road traffic accident with a case pleaded in excess of £4million.
• She has recently secured a discontinuance in a multi-party EL/PL dispute regarding a fall from a ladder in the workplace and involving severe orthopaedic injuries.
• Successfully defended a public liability claim involving negligent nonfeasance towards a member of the public. Claim successfully repudiated and discontinued by Claimant.  
• Resolution in December 2023, by way of Part 36 offer, of a claim involving an injured Claimant who underwent a below knee amputation following a fall in the workplace.  
• Successfully defended a challenge to the expiry of limitation on the basis of the Claimant becoming incapacitated citing the ancient case of Prideaux -v-Webber (1661) 1 Lev 263. Claim successfully repudiated and discontinued by Claimant.
