Joe Sarmiento is experienced both as an outside litigator for insurers and as an in-house advisor to insurers. Joe spent the first part of his career litigating coverage disputes ranging from long-tail pollution and asbestos coverage cases to complex construction defect cases at both the trial and appellate level. He also served as co-counsel in arbitrating two Bermuda Form cases.
While working in-house, Joe supervised outside counsel litigating both coverage and merits on the variety of general liability and specialty forms issued by the insurance company. Joe also served as the legal-side representative in charge of providing recommendations, review, and approval of all new policy language issued by the company. Joe further was in charge of multiple writing tutorials for the claims professionals.
