Linda is an Associate in the Dar es Salaam office, where she predominantly works in the Corporate department. She collaborates extensively with the firm’s Banking, Energy, Mining, Regulatory, and Public-Private Partnership (PPP) teams, contributing her expertise to a range of high-impact sectors. Since joining Clyde & Co as a trainee in July 2020, Linda has built a diverse legal background, including training with several Tanzanian law firms and serving as legal counsel for a Fin-Tech company with operations across five African countries. In that role, she advised on commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and operations tailored to the Tanzanian market.

Linda pursued her undergraduate degree from the University of Mzumbe and completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Law School of Tanzania. As an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania, she is also an active member of the Tanganyika Law Society and the East Africa Law Society.

  • Advising a world leading tourism company on an acquisition deal of USD 11 million involving four high end tourist businesses in Tanzania. We advised from Tanzania law perspective across M&A, regulatory, real estate, litigation, tax and drafted the underlying transaction documents.
  • Advising and reviewing the Framework Agreement and Host Agreement for a USD 1 billion TAZARA railway PPP project between China, Tanzania and Zambia. 
  • Advising a European developer on its Concession Agreement for the proposed rehabilitation of the Dar es Salaam Ferry Terminal and waterfront area.
  • Advising and preparing a memorandum of advice for a major international energy company on the PPP legal framework including processes, approvals and regulatory requirements for the construction of transmission lines under PPP framework.  
  • Advising various mining, oil and gas companies on the local content requirements under Tanzanian laws.
  • Assisting with drafting memoranda of advice on regulatory compliance and licensing for a major multinational entertainment and media company based in the UK in relation to applicable telecommunication laws in Tanzania.
  • Advising various international and local investors with their compliance obligations and managing regulatory issues across a wide range of sectors in Tanzania.
  • Conducting and preparing legal due diligence reports for various clients on commercial transactions. 
  • Assisting with drafting memoranda of advice on various areas such as aviation, banking, carbon trading, energy, petroleum, microfinance and shipping.
  • Conducting a due diligence on all security documents of a Tanzanian Bank to ensure that the securities were in order and enforceable on behalf of a foreign acquiring entity. The due diligence was done in preparation for an acquisition by a Middle Eastern bank. 
  • Advising and drafting various finance documents including credit facility and security agreements.
  • Assisting international and local companies with advice and registration of the foreign loans to the Bank of Tanzania. 
  • Advising and assisting with registration of charges and mortgages.
  • Assisting various foreign companies with organising their statutory fillings at the Business Registration and Licensing Agency and overall provision of company secretarial services.
  • Drafting and reviewing commercial agreements for clients.
