Nicole specialises in marine and international trade disputes, advising a range of clients including shipping companies, commodity traders, shipyards, yacht brokers, ports, insurers and logistics companies. She has experience with issues relating to charterparties, bills of lading, sale contracts, superyacht construction and sale & purchase disputes, and ship and yacht repairer liabilities.  

Nicole has conducted domestic and multi-jurisdictional disputes in arbitration under the LMAA, LCIA, SIAC Rules, and in the English High Court. She also has experience advising on live charterparty disputes, such as ship arrests.

Her non-contentious practice involves advising on a variety of commercial contracts for logistics and freight-forwarding companies, including one of the world’s largest parcel operators, and advising shipping companies on charterparties. 

Nicole has an LLM in International Shipping Law from Queen Mary University of London. She speaks fluent French and is proficient in Spanish.

  • Advising a yacht broker on a brokerage commission dispute.
  • Advising insurers of ports and shipyards in relation to incidents such as groundings and collisions.
  • Advising a logistics company in LCIA arbitration in relation to alleged breaches and termination issues arising under a shareholders’ agreement for a joint venture in the Middle East.
  • Appearing on behalf of a defendant shipping company before the English High Court for the trial of a US$30 million claim alleging fraudulent FFA trading.
  • Drafting commercial contracts for partnerships between e-commerce platforms and one of the world’s largest parcel operators.
