Working closely with her insurer clients as a strategic partner she has developed market leading strategies and products which have delivered significant indemnity savings.
Melanie has successfully run several high profile cases to the Court of Appeal, eg. Singh v Yaqubi, Opoku v Tintas and McBride v UKI. These cases have shaped the law in credit hire to what it is today.
In addition, a number of cases have attracted the attention of the media, the most recent being the highest known value credit hire case in the country, a claim for circa £400,000 of credit hire and which was ongoing at the date of the trial. That claim was successfully defeated on liability.
Melanie regularly contributes to industry debate and is a member of the FOIL credit hire special focus team.
