Terence has acted for global major insurance companies, airlines, GA operators, leasing companies, and airports and airport service providers, in aviation insurance matters and claims, multi-jurisdictional disputes (including, as the lead partner, in a recent recovery case involving approximately 30 aircraft – value of claim exceeds USD800 million) and over 20 major accidents (occurred in Indonesia, South Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, Malaysia, the PRC, Vietnam, Japan, etc.). On the non-contentious side, he advises on contractual wording such as terms and conditions of carriage, insurance coverage and regulatory matters.

Besides, Terence has advised on aviation and ship finance and leasing transactions. He also has experience in managing major marine disasters and a broad range of wet shipping matters.

He regularly contributes articles to the IATA Liability Reports and other publications and speaks at various industry events globally.

Terence is recommended by various legal directories for his expertise, including The Legal 500, Doyles Guide, Singapore Business Review, Chambers Asia Pacific and Who’s Who Legal, among others. In particular, he has been recognised by the Singapore Business Federation as one of the 20 Singapore's most influential lawyers under the age of 40 for 2018, and by Doyles Guide 2021 as a Leading Aviation Lawyer in Singapore. He is described by clients as "a rare gem in the legal profession who understands not just legal knowledge but the customs and practices of the local markets" (source: Chambers and Partners 2023), and "as an exceptional aviation insurance lawyer and has an excellent depth of knowledge backed by practical skills" (source: Chambers and Partners 2024).

Terence was the valedictorian of his class and a scholar. He is quadruple-qualified (England & Wales, Ireland, Singapore and Malaysia). He is also a Notary Public and Commissioner for Oaths. Terence speaks English, Bahasa Malay, Mandarin, Bahasa Indonesia and Cantonese.

Apart from providing legal services, Terence also serves as a volunteer lawyer at the Law Society’s Community Legal Clinics and is part of the Law Society’s badminton team. By virtue of his extensive expertise in complex insurance matters, he has recently been appointed as a Committee Member of the Personal Injury / Property Damage Committee of the Law Society of Singapore.
