Kieran has practiced as a forensic accountant for more than 30 years, including 12 years at a Big 4 accounting firm. Kieran has extensive experience in investigations and the quantification of disputes, insurance claims, and valuations. Kieran has provided expert testimony to the International Chamber of Commerce Court of Arbitration and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.

Kieran looks beyond the numbers to deal with the commercial realities of situations.

Kieran's areas of industry expertise include mining, construction, manufacturing, aviation, hospitality, professional services, retail, petrochemical, oil refining, oil sands and offshore oil production.

• The quantification of numerous business interruption claims in the context of property insurance and cyber insurance claims.
• Numerous company valuations in the context of professional indemnity claims and shareholder disputes. 
• On behalf of an African state-owned entity, Kieran performed the investigation of a mining company relating to an UNCITRAL Arbitration dispute.
• On behalf of a major Asian airline, Kieran project managed the analysis of passenger ticket data to determine the quantum relating to a US class action.
• On behalf of a major oil company Kieran quantified a claim relating to the impact of contaminated oil on the operations of a refinery.
• On behalf of a major National Oil Company, Kieran reviewed the quantum of a Contractor's claim and prepared the counterclaim following the termination of a drill ship contract.
• On behalf of a government, Kieran reviewed the underpayment relating to the Production Sharing Agreement (“PSA”) between the government and an oil company. Kieran’s review focused on the applicability of the deductions from Cost Oil under the PSA.
• On behalf of an insurance company, Kieran reviewed a £63 million business interruption claim relating to a petrochemical plant in Canada. Kieran provided expert testimony to the International Chamber of Commerce Court of Arbitration.
