Samantha joined Clyde & Co in 2024 having worked at a boutique specialist Health and Social Care firm since 2022. Before relocating to London, Samantha gained extensive in-court advocacy experience working as a criminal barrister and solicitor in New Zealand.
Samantha's experience includes advising and advocating on behalf of NHS Trusts, health and social care providers and professional individuals on a wide range of healthcare related issues, including:
Inquests: supporting and advising clients from the initial coronial investigation to the final hearing. This includes providing advice on evidence to be provided, issues to be addressed by the coroner and potential outcomes at the conclusion of the final hearing. Samantha is well-versed at providing her own advocacy at all stages of the inquest and prides herself on her ability to critically examine the disclosed material and assist witnesses through the proceedings.
Regulatory Investigations: supporting and advising clients, both providers and individuals, in respect of investigations undertaken by regulatory bodies, including the Care Quality Commission. This includes providing support for all nature of enforcement action, including criminal prosecutions.
Samantha has a strong work ethic and is committed to ensuring the best outcome for her clients. She is reliable and consistently works to ensure that all clients feel their interests and heard and are skilfully advocated for.
Samantha studied in Wellington, New Zealand and was admitted to the bar as a Barrister and Solicitor in August, 2018.
