Keith Geurts is the Office Managing Partner of Clyde & Co in Toronto, and his practice is focused on a wide range of commercial, municipal and insurance litigation matters. He is also the Canadian Team Lead on the firm’s regulatory and investigations practice group. His work encompasses all facets of public administrative law, including aviation, quasi-criminal and white-collar crime, sanctions, regulatory hearings and investigations. Starting his career as an Assistant Crown Attorney in the Region of Peel, Keith is uniquely positioned to defend municipal police and its boards and he has successfully represented clients at all levels of courts in Ontario, bringing a sense of confidence and talent to his practice.
Keith’s clients span diverse industries, including the financial, transportation, manufacturing, automotive, aviation, retailing and resource sectors. He advises and defends corporate clients, board members and senior executives with serious charges in domestic and international anti-corruption matters, fraud investigations, money-laundering, antitrust and competition law, criminal and quasi-criminal defence, search warrants handling, internal investigations, public law, regulatory compliance and related civil litigation.
He regularly teaches trial advocacy and is a lecturer at Osgoode Hall’s LLM program teaching a course on global regulatory challenges surrounding anti-money laundering and international sanctions. In addition, Keith has participated in numerous speaking engagements and writes about relevant issues in the legal industry.
He was ranked by Chambers and Partners Canada in the field of white-collar crime law and was selected by his peers for inclusion in Best Lawyers Canada in the fields of administrative and public law, and corporate and commercial litigation. Moreover, Keith was recognized by The Legal 500 for his work in insurance.
