Charlotte advises across the full range of contentious construction, engineering and projects matters. This includes disputes involving valuation, payment, deductions, delay, disruption, defects, termination and suspension. She is experienced in advising on both standard form and bespoke contracts.  She has comprehensive experience in bringing and defending claims at the Technology & Construction Court and a broad range of experience across various dispute resolution processes.

Charlotte has advised employers, joint venturers, contractors, sub-contractors and consultants on a range of disputes and she has particular expertise in the energy & infrastructure sectors, and PFI/PPP projects.

Expérience

• Acting for a major provider of energy services in an expert determination relating to alleged defective electrical energy supply.
• Representing a PFI entity in a large scale dispute surrounding defective fire stopping works.
• Acting for a national energy services provider regarding a multi-million pound claim for wrongful termination.
• Acting for a specialist housing provider in a final account dispute with its main contractor in relation to a new-build retirement village project in the south of England, including providing expert supported quantum advice.
• Representing a North-West university in claims against its architect and building contractor in respect of defective design and workmanship as regards the brickwork cladding of a flagship building.
• Representing a performance improvement consultancy specialising in social housing in a substantial claim for wrongful termination.
• Acting for a leading construction and regeneration organisation in a dispute related to defective road construction.
• Assisting in advising a local authority in a final account adjudication arising out of the design and construction of the regeneration of a public landmark on matters concerning delay and extensions of time.
• Defending an adjudication brought by a building contractor against a developer in respect of the valuation of the final account on a project to provide student accommodation in Sheffield.
• Acting for a multinational oil and gas provider in relation to an adjudication concerning defects and payment issues under the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996.
• Representing a major UK contractor in proceedings relating to defective installation of heating services in high-end residential properties.
