Moamen is an associate in Clyde & Co’s Dubai Office and has been active in the Middle East for over 8 years.
Moamen has extensive experience in Arbitration and Litigation. He handles international litigation and arbitration cases under various rules, including ICC, ADCCAC, DIAC, ICSID, CRCICA, and UNCITRAL, in relation to disputes involving insurance and re-insurance, competition law, construction, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, investor-state disputes and distribution. He also has extensive experience in investigations with particular focus on competition law and general criminal matters.
Moamen is qualified in Egypt and obtained his LLM from Leiden University (with a thesis focused on Investment Arbitration) and his LLB – English Section from Cairo University. He is bilingual in Arabic and English.
Moamen worked in leading law firms in Cairo before joining Clyde & Co. and handled matters related to oil and gas, corporate law, taxes, and general litigation and was previously a public prosecutor in Egypt.

- Co-counsel for an investor in a multi-billion dollar claim before the ICSID.
- Co-counsel for a major multinational company in a claim brought before the ICC against a state-owned company with value over USD 350 million.
- Represented a major construction company in a construction dispute before CRCICA with a value over USD 10 million.
- Handled a series of court cases filed against a top tier-auditing firm in different jurisdictions with estimated damages claimed exceeding USD 200 million.
- Assisted a major automotive manufacturer to settle a dispute with its supplier of the components of the cars.
- Represented and advised a major Oil & Gas Company on its disputes.
- Assisted a multinational telecommunications company in competition investigations with the competition authority.
- Assisted a market leader in food industry with competition investigations conducted by the competition authority.
- Handled procedures brought against a company for non-payment of the amount agreed upon in a share purchase agreement, a claim that was later referred and settled by arbitration.
- Successfully represented a major pharmaceutical distributor in a claim brought with the ICC.
