Jay has a broad range of experience in both contentious and non-contentious aspects of town and country planning for clients in the commercial, marine, industrial and residential sectors as well as advising on environmental issues. Jay has recently worked on the promotion of a major NSIP proposal in the north east of England, seeing the project through application and examination stages. Jay’s non-contentious experience includes negotiating and drafting section 106 and highways agreements. He regularly advises on permitted development rights, environmental impact assessment, enforcement and certificates of lawfulness.

Advising clients in relation to Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects and applications for Development Consent Orders, including advising Associated British Ports in relation to the proposed construction of additional Roll-on Roll-off cargo berths at the Port of Immingham.
Advising in respect of the allocation of a 262 hectares Garden Village to deliver up to 3,700 homes, over 50,000sqm of commercial space, care homes and associated infrastructure.
Drafting and negotiating section 106 agreements in respect of complex phased residential developments.
