Clare is a Senior Associate in our London team, with experience acting on a range of disputes on behalf of professionals including law firms, accountants and brokers. Her practice focuses on defending and advising individuals and firms in relation to regulatory, disciplinary and investigations work, and in professional negligence and malpractice proceedings.
She has acted for UK and global law firms, legal service providers, individual solicitors and their insurers pre-action and in complex, high value and high-profile High Court litigation. As well as acting for law firms and solicitors, Clare has advised auditor, barrister and broker clients and their insurers in relation to professional negligence claims. She has experience of resolving a range of professional disputes via mediation and ADR, both pre-action and after proceedings have been commenced.
Clare has acted for law firms and individuals in formal contact with the Solicitors Regulation Authority. She has assisted with the conduct of in-depth external investigations into professional conduct issues, including the preparation of investigation reports and follow-up advisory work, and the negotiation and drafting of regulatory settlement agreements.
Clare writes and speaks on topics relating to regulatory investigations and professional disputes.

- Defending large law firms facing professional negligence claims across a range of practice areas, including corporate and commercial matters, debt finance, tax, lost litigation, employment, construction and private client work.
- Advising auditor, barrister and broker clients facing professional negligence claims, pre-action and in high-value litigation.
- Resolving professional disputes through mediation.
- Representing individual solicitors and firms in formal contact with the SRA.
- Advising law firms in relation to regulatory issues including Anti-Money Laundering, conflicts of interest, confidentiality, equality, diversity and inclusion, and other alleged breaches of the 2011 and 2019 Codes of Conduct.
- Preparing in-depth external investigation reports into professional conduct issues.
