Hakim is a consultant with over 14 years of experience advising clients on both contentious and non-contentious matters across multiple jurisdictions and sectors in Africa. 

Hakim is a trusted advisor with a varied practice that allows him to assist clients with local and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, structuring, foreign direct investment, commercial transactions and regulatory advice across the continent. 

His client base includes local and multinational companies across Healthcare, Hospitality, Construction, Transportation, Technology, Energy, Real estate, Finance and Education.

Hakim is appointed each year by ICC Austria to speak about local practices and regulations in Africa during the Trade Finance Week. 

Expérience

• Advising subsidiaries of a leading pharmaceutical company dealing with corporate, real estate and litigation issues in Algeria.
• Providing legal support to a major firm for the construction of a public park representing 670 hectares in Algiers (value around 5 billion dollars).
• Advising one of the world’s leading companies in the water treatment space regarding corporate and litigation issues in Algeria, including Arbitration.
• Assisting a subsidiary of an Italian company in the recovery of debts (more than USD$23 million) held with the Congolese State and private companies.
• Advising an international Mall operator, regarding their real estate, HSE issues for their operations in Algeria & Morocco. 
• Carrying out due diligence in the context of a transaction on petroleum assets in the Congo. This due diligence included CPP in 3 locations, and assistance with all laws and regulations relating to all operating licenses obtained.
