In recent years, David has developed a particular expertise in:
employment tax and employee incentives – EMIs, SAYEs, CSOPs, SIPs, LTIPs – and residence issues and inheritance tax;
general insurance and life insurance tax;
oil and gas tax and tonnage tax.
He has also taken tax cases to the Tax Tribunal and negotiated and agreed settlements with HMRC on behalf of clients.
David has published articles in the Tax Journal and Taxation, contributed to leading tax textbooks, been quoted in the Financial Times, the Daily Telegraph, City AM and Reuters and appeared on BBC Business Live to discuss the EU tax plan. He has been a member of the Committee of the British Branch of the International Fiscal Association and a member of the Law Society International Tax Sub-Committee.
