Corneli's practice involves all aspects of dispute resolution, with a particular focus on insurance law, general insurance related dispute resolution, professional indemnity litigation, personal injury and construction related disputes.

She has advised insurers and re-insurers in the long-term insurance market regarding policy response and coverage as well as the development of new insurance products.  Corneli has also assisted long-term insurance clients with representations to the ombudsman for long-term insurance.

Corneli has represented some of the largest retailers in disputes relating to the Consumer Protection Act.

She is committed to doing pro bono work and serves as a commissioner in the Small Claims Court.

Corneli obtained a BA LLB degree from the University of Stellenbosch and was admitted as an attorney in 1997.

Expérience

• Defending various public liability insurance claims resulting in favourable settlements for the insurance clients
• Defending a large construction company and providing general advice in connection with various construction projects relating to the rehabilitation and upgrade of various national roads in the Western Cape
• Advising a reinsurer on the regulatory and other requirements applicable to the development of a new insurance product
• Instituting various actions on behalf of insurers to pursue subrogated recoveries
