Claudia joined Clyde & Co’s Hamburg office in August 2022, specialising on matters relating to banking and finance as well as shipping and aviation.
Prior joining the firm, she has worked for eleven years in the Hamburg office of Ince & Co, where she advised domestic and international banks, investment funds and ship owners on all aspects of ship finance. This includes the drafting of loan and security documentation for vessel and fleet financings. She also worked on the restructuring of respective finance arrangements including the unwinding of export credit cover.
Claudia is, furthermore, experienced in general banking matters, banking regulations and ISDA contracts (International Swaps and Derivatives Association). She has worked 25 years for various departments of a wholesale bank, including ten years of international reals estate financing.
She has also worked for two years for the German export credit guarantee agency, where she acquired detailed knowledge of export cover, debt restructuring and the multi- and bilateral rescheduling of sovereign debt.
Claudia is qualified as a German lawyer (Rechtsanwältin) since 1983 and has a Graduate of the Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA, Paris - Promotion Fernand Braudel 1985/86).
She is a member of the Alumni of the Junior Chamber (Jacees) International, the Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA, Paris), and the German Academic Exchange Service.
Amongst others, she has contributed the German jurisdiction part of Thomson Reuters’ Practical Law – Aviation Finance Global Guide.
Claudia speaks German, English and French.

- Advising a South-East Asian client on specific liability clauses of its loan agreement with a German bank.
- Advising a German NGO when acquiring a rescue vessel with green finance.
