Andrew gained significant experience as a Paralegal at Clyde & Co, pursuing claims in many different jurisdictions against carriers for losses arising out of one of the largest containership casualties of all time.  He joined Clyde & Co as an Associate in 2017.  He is a member of the Marine and International Trade team based in Guildford and provides clients with sound commercial legal advice on a range of shipping disputes relating to the carriage of goods by sea, road and air, with a particular focus on cargo recovery claims.

Andrew regularly handles claims concerning loss and/or damage to high value cargoes carried in bulk and in containers.  He has wide experience of handling claims before the Commercial Court and London arbitration tribunals, and also before courts and tribunals in many other jurisdictions around the world.  Andrew has an in depth knowledge and commercial understanding of clients' needs in the field of carriage of goods and cargo recovery. 

Expérience

• Advising cargo insurers on the total loss of USD 300 million of cargo after the "MOL COMFORT" broke in two, caught fire and sank losing over 4,000 containers
• Acting for and providing advice to one of the largest international food groups in Europe
• Acting for the owners of a high value cargo of steel rails in a London arbitration cargo damage claim against the vessel owners
• Acting for cargo owners in defence of a General Average claim in relation to the payment of a ransom following a piracy attack
• Advising cargo insurers in relation to damage caused following a cyber-attack on one of the world's leading shipping lines
• Advising clients in relation to claims concerning damage to temperature controlled cargoes
