The Ministry of HR and Emiratisation issues Ministerial Decisions on the new UAE Labour Law

Following the introduction of the new UAE Federal Labour Law on 2 February 2022, the Ministry of HR and Emiratisation (MHRE) has issued a series of Ministerial Decisions to supplement the new law and clarify how existing processes such as Wages Protection System (WPS), will continue to operate under the new law.

In this article, we summarise what UAE employers need to know about the recently issued Ministerial Decisions:

  • UAE Ministerial Decision No 47 of 2022 On Regulating Labour Disputes and Complaints Procedures: effective 4 February 2022

  • UAE Ministerial Decision No 51 of 2022 On Licensing and Regulating the Activities of Recruitment Agencies: effective 7 February 2022

  • Cabinet Decision no. (21) of 2020 on the fees of services and the administrative fines at the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation: effective 5 April 2022
  • Ministerial Decision No. 203/2022 on the regulation of granting electronic work permit quotas to establishments: effective 15 April 2022
  • Cabinet Decision No. (46) of 2022 on the establishment of a collective labour disputes committee: effective 9 May 2022
  • Ministerial Decision No. 208 of 2022 on the standards of determination of high-risk establishments: effective 1 June 2022
  • Cabinet Decision No. 18/2022 On the Classification of Private Sector Establishments Subject to the Provisions of the Law Regulating Labour Relation: effective 1 June 2022
