Clyde & Co expands renewable energy and carbon markets offering with hire of Alex Blomfield

London, 18 November 2024 – Global law firm Clyde & Co today announces the appointment of Alex Blomfield as an energy transition and carbon markets partner in London, as part of the firm’s increased investment in its energy transition, carbon, and nature offering for clients.

He joins from Simmons & Simmons, where he was recognised as a leading renewable energy and carbon markets practitioner. Alex brings extensive experience in the sector, advising on the development, construction and financing of complex energy and infrastructure projects worldwide, throughout the full life cycle of those projects. More recently Alex’s practice has also seen growth advising in carbon markets and natural capital. He has advised on projects and other transactions in over seventy countries across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
