Clyde & Co advises SITA on its acquisition of German airline flight operations services company ASIS

Clyde & Co has advised SITA, the leading technology provider for the air transport industry, on its acquisition of ASISTIM, the Hannover-based company renowned for its airline flight operations services.

The deal strengthens SITA's position as a comprehensive solutions provider to airlines. The acquisition of ASISTIM provides SITA with access to its own airline operations control centre services, which will ultimately help to address a number of industry issues including staff shortages, rising costs and changing demands.

The Clyde & Co team was a cross-border collaboration between the London-based aviation team and the Munich-based corporate team. The aviation side was led by Sarah Bolt, whilst Adriaan Louw led the corporate/M&A side. The team also included  Peter Macara (Supervising Partner), and Lazar Vrbaski (Senior Associate) from the aviation team, and Munich-based Eva-Maria Barbosa (Supervising Partner) and Dardan Gashi (Associate) from the corporate team. 

The combination of aviation and corporate expertise ensured SITA were not only supported on the M&A aspects of the deal but also received bespoke risk exposure advice regarding ASISTIM as an aviation business to enable future planning on how to successfully integrate such a business.
