Dr Dan Schilbach is a lawyer (Counsel) in the Düsseldorf office of Clyde & Co Europe LLP. He advises national and international clients on all liability and coverage issues related to cyber incidents, as well as in disputes before state courts and arbitration tribunals. Dan advises national and international clients on all liability and coverage issues related to cyber incidents, as well as in disputes before state courts and arbitration tribunals. Another focus of his work are insurance contract disputes in the area of financial lines, in particular in the fields of D&O, tech E&O and product liability insurance. His practice includes acting as monitoring, coverage and defence counsel in complex insurance cases and liability matters.
Dan is recognized for insurance law by Best Lawyers (2024), Wirtschaftswoche (2024) and Legal500.
Dan completed his doctorate at the chair of Prof. Dr. Christian Armbrüster (Freie Universität Berlin) on an insurance law topic at the interface between product liability and recall cost insurance.
He has published numerous articles on cyber insurance, D&O insurance, product liability insurance and current liability law topics.
