1. Introduction
Clyde & Co is the first law firm to have held an in-house Climate Change Law Hackathon in collaboration with The Chancery Lane Project. As a pioneer in this approach, the firm was a significant contributor to the third edition of the Climate Contract Playbook, published last week.
The Chancery Lane Project is an initiative of commercial lawyers aiming to provide legal solutions that can support businesses in the transition to a low-carbon economy. Additionally, the project endeavours to raise awareness throughout the legal community about the role of the commercial lawyer in the fight against climate change.
Clyde & Co's lawyers collectively devoted more than 500 Pro Bono hours of their time to the Climate Change Law Hackathon. A large number of other organisations have also participated and contributed to this edition of the Climate Contract Playbook.
