Hui Yain advises airlines and GA operators as well as their insurers in aviation-related disputes. She specialises in handling routine claims and cross border litigation involving passenger, baggage and cargo disputes, third party liability matters and subrogation claims.
Hui Yain is also frequently involved in defending airline clients in passenger rights or consumer protection complaints arising from flights cancellation, delays or deficiency in service. She has also worked on aviation losses within the region.
Apart from her disputes resolution experience, she advises airline clients on general corporate matters including review of conditions of carriage, data privacy laws, risk management as well as compliance with manuals of industry regulatory bodies on an ad-hoc basis.
Prior to her joining the aviation industry, Hui Yain was a corporate and tax lawyer in Malaysia advising MNC clients on tax planning and corporate tax affairs.
Hui Yain is fluent in Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese dialects. She has a Certificate of General Insurance (CGI).

- Advising a Taiwanese carrier and its insurers in dealing with wrongful death, injury and third party property claims arising from two major losses in Penghu and Taipei, Taiwan R.O.C;
- Acting for an Indonesian GA operator in handling crew and passenger injury claims following a Bell 406 crash in Sumatra, Indonesia;
- Acting for a Thai-based GA operator in an Airbus Helicopters' crash in Thailand;
- Handling personal injury claims from passengers of different nationalities following a major loss involving a Papua New Guinea's carrier; and
- Assisting a Malaysian carrier with wrongful death claims arising from two major accidents.
