Elgan is a Senior Associate in the firm’s Energy, Marine and Natural Resources department. His practice focuses on shipping, commodities, international trade and logistics. He acts for a range of clients, including ship owners, charterers, commodities houses, insurers and logistics providers.
He has significant experience of domestic and international dispute resolution and has handled disputes in the English High Court as well as international arbitrations under the ICC, LCIA, LMAA, and GAFTA Rules.
Elgan also has extensive experience in providing regulatory and compliance advice on matters within the transport and logistics sector. He regularly advises on issues such as freight forwarding, customs, operator licensing and the carriage of dangerous goods. He is regarded as a ‘go-to’ Associate in the sector and spent 6 months on secondment in Brussels with one of the world’s largest parcel carriers as Legal Counsel for the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia.
