Alan is a partner in Clyde & Co’s corporate group and co-head of the education sector. He is based in the Riyadh office. Alan advises private, government owned and multinational corporations, family businesses, and investors on share and asset acquisitions and disposals, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), divestitures, joint ventures (JVs), structuring, reorganisations, corporate governance and compliance, general corporate advisory, and commercial agreements.
Alan has advised on a multitude of corporate transactions, working with clients operating in the education, energy, healthcare, infrastructure, retail and consumer, and technology sectors.
Alan is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales. He graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) in 1989.
Prior to joining Clyde & Co, Alan established the PwC Legal Middle East corporate team and led the corporate function in Saudi Arabia. He was a partner at Pinsent Masons in the UK before locating to the Middle East in 2009 to establish and lead the Middle East corporate team.

Advising a Chinese-based multinational Jofo Nonwovens Co. on the acquisition of a 70 per cent shareholding in Advanced Fabrics Company (SAAF), a Saudi company involved in manufacturing products for the healthcare sector, from Tadawul listed Takween Advanced Industries.
Undertaking legal due diligence on behalf of a Saudi-based company on targets in Saudi Arabia and the UAE in the IT sector.
Advising a Kuwaiti owned energy sector client in obtaining a “No Notification Required Certificate” from the General Authority for Competition (GAC) in Saudi Arabia.
Undertaking legal due diligence of Saudi and UAE targets on behalf of a US-based healthcare client.
