Jon specialises in insurance and reinsurance (principally non-marine) litigation and has particular experience with the Bermuda Form (usually involving New York substantive law and English or Bermudian arbitration) and has been involved with numerous cases in this field.
In addition, Jon has acted for a number of French clients and speaks and writes French well.
Jon is a CEDR-accredited Mediator and has written and spoken extensively on the subject, as well as having participated in numerous Mediations. He is happy to act as a Mediator. He has also been awarded a Certificate in Advanced Negotiation by CEDR.
Jon was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge (Classics, First Class Honours; Part IB Law) and at the College of Law in London (First Class Honours).

Acting for successful respondents in a number of large claims subject to Bermuda Form arbitration in London and Bermuda, involving Fortune 500 companies
Acting for reinsurers of a captive in successful resolution of claims relating to tax shelters
Acting for successful BVI company in respect of a freezing order and enforcement of an arbitration award against the state-owned Ukrainian gas company
Advising an Austrian wind power company in relation to damage to wind turbines
Acting for Lloyd's syndicates and London and international insurance companies on a wide range of issues, including personal accident, product liability, and property/casualty
Handling numerous large claims subject to the "Bermuda Form" wording
