David is a member of the construction professionals team with experience of defending pre-action and litigated claims as well as advising insurers on coverage.
David specialises in construction-related, complex multi-party disputes (both pre and post Practical Completion), usually involving simultaneous defence and recovery actions. He regularly advises main contractors, architects, engineers, and their insurers with respect to defending professional indemnity claims.
He has experience in all major forms of construction dispute resolution including TCC litigation, arbitration, adjudication, and mediation. His experience covers most of the typical (and even some of the less typical) forms of construction contract.
Experience
Investigating and defending claims relating to structure and foundations, including piling issues, drilling, structural steelwork, and raft slabs. David has significant experience defending claims relating to complex modular buildings and MMC.
Defending claims relating to all manner of M&E/MEP and Engineering related issues, including wastewater treatment, heating systems, wiring systems, pipework (weld failures and leaks), commercial refrigeration, thermal modelling, and lifts.
Fire safety issues, including cladding, barriers, internal compartmentation, fire doors, windows, and life safety systems. David’s experience also includes defending Building Safety Act and Defective Premises Act claims.
Defending claims relating to remedial works programming, inefficiencies, critical delay, complex consequential losses, and LADs.
