Tom joined Clyde & Co in 2010 and has extensive experience in defending catastrophic and large loss injury claims for major insurer clients.

Tom regularly advises clients on policy and liability issues arising out of road traffic accidents, employers’ liability matters and public liability claims. He specialises in chronic pain, serious orthopaedic injuries, brain injuries and amputation claims to include cases valued in excess of £5m. 

Tom believes in adopting a collaborative approach to handling claims where possible to achieve the best results for his clients. 

Tom is a member of Clyde and Co’s Amputation SMG.

Experience

Tom's current and recent caseload include:

  • currently acting for a major insurer defending a fatal claim arising out of road traffic accident with a case pleaded in excess of £5m;
  • defending a public liability claim following a fall of 10 metres by a trespasser;
  • advising in an Employer's Liability claim in relation to an injured Claimant who underwent an elective amputation at shoulder level;
  • resolution in September 2023, by way of a Part 36 offer, of a claim involving a cyclist who sustained a severe head injury;
  • settlement of a lower limb amputation claim following a motorcyclist collision with an HGV.
