Toby is a leader in the field of industrial disease claims litigation and strategic advice. He is one of a small number of lawyers that enjoys a national profile  in the area. He provides counsel and strategic advice to insurers in this highly volatile area. He is also retained by composite insurers to provide a Thought Leadership role and to provide innovative and proactive responses to market developments. He has acted in the majority of industrial disease test cases in recent years and is regularly instructed to defend complex technical disease claims.

Toby is currently involved in the development of volume disease claims handling portfolios for insurers and advising insurers in relation to asbestos law reform.

Toby has been ranked in both legal 500 and Chambers and Partners for the last 15 years and has been variously described as “truly knowledgeable”, “a legal expert” and “with great depth of experience”.  His asbestos expertise has been described as “second to none”.
