Sam trained with Clyde & Co and is a Legal Director in the firm's International Arbitration and Litigation Group. He read Law at Bristol University and spent the penultimate year of his degree on exchange at the University of Hong Kong.

Sam represents public, private and state-owned companies in a range of sectors including commodities, energy and asset management. He has acted in a number of high-value arbitrations conducted under the major arbitral rules, as well as in proceedings before the English courts.

  • Acted for the claimant in Commercial Court proceedings in a dispute arising from the termination of a management services agreement by an African sovereign wealth fund.
  • Acted for insurers faced with a significant property damage and business interruption claim arising from the buckling of a subsea pipeline. Ad hoc arbitration, London seat, New York law.
  • Advised a high-net worth individual in respect of investments made with an AIM listed company.
