Senior counsel at Clyde & Co Montreal’s office, Prachi practises in insurance law and civil litigation. She is recognized by “Best Lawyers Canada” in insurance law and by the “Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory” in the Litigation – Commercial Insurance category.
Fluent in French and in English, she advises foreign and domestic insurers, does insurance coverage opinion work and monitors claims against Canadian insureds in various jurisdictions with respect to E&O, professional liability/indemnity, D&O, CGL, abuse, cyber and property insurance policies.
In her litigation practice, she has represented not only insurers but various professionals and companies, including IT firms, manufacturers, non-profit and religious organizations, and directors and officers before the Quebec and Ontario courts.
She has been tracking tech-related emerging risks for years. She writes and gives presentations on these issues (particularly the internet of things, AI and cyber risks), notably to the insurance industry and its clients. She also reviews climate-related risks for the insurance industry.
A member of the Quebec Bar since 2008, she is also a member of the PLUS (Professional Liability Underwriting Society) Quebec Chapter committee. She has also taught insurance law (common law and civil law) at the Law Faculty of McGill University.
In 2012, she did a secondment with a Lloyd's syndicate in London. During her law school years, Prachi won awards as a pleader at the Laskin Moot and the Quebec Bar Moot.
