Karin is a Counsel in the insurance and dispute resolution Team in Clyde & Co´s Munich office. She is an experienced lawyer with a focus on the settlement of complex, gross losses. Karin is dealing with domestic and multi-jurisdictional claims as defence lawyer, as well as monitoring counsel. She is experienced in general liability claims, in regard of defence and coverage issues, with a focus on product and general liability insurance. Karin is conducting legal trials, securing recourse claims, on behalf of insurers, as well as raising so-called torpedo suits (“Torpedoklage”) with the aim of establishing domestic jurisdiction.
Karin has studied law in Hamburg, Cork (Ireland) and Regensburg. She is admitted to the German bar since 2001 (Rechtsanwältin). Karin is co-publisher of two chapters of the “Beck´sches RA-Handbuch”. Because of her experience in personal injuries claims, she has been involved in international legal suits as legal consultant and submitted legal statements for the defendant party, on behalf of insurers. She is advising on claims of permanent total disablement, as well as complex medical expenses claims, caused by (sport) accidents.
Prior joining Clyde & Co, Karin worked for a German law firm, specialized on insurance law. Beforehand, she had been employed by international law firms, focussed on economic as well as insolvency matters.
