Barnaby is a Senior Associate in the Projects and Construction Group in Clyde & Co’s Bristol Office, with a primary focus on the resolution of construction disputes across a range of dispute resolution methods.
Whilst Barnaby has a broad experience across all areas of construction disputes. He has particular experience in the Energy Sector, in particular Nuclear and Energy from Waste.
He routinely acts in respect of large-scale infrastructure disputes and acted on behalf of the contractor in one of the Technology and Construction Court’s largest recent litigations, concerning a waste-to-energy plant.
Barnaby has also spent time on secondment within the in-house legal team of a leading UK provider of technical services, FM, regeneration and energy services.
Experience
Advising a joint venture client in respect of the civils works on Hinkley Point C Nuclear New Build.
Acting on behalf of an international EPC Contractor in a multiparty litigation relating to the termination of an EPC Contract on a GBP 150 million gasification process plant.
Conducting a series of adjudications on behalf of an international EPC Contractor in respect of a dispute with a roofing and cladding subcontractor.
Successfully defending a main contractor in Part 8 adjudication enforcement proceedings in the High Court and the Court of Appeal.
Successfully defending an adjudication on behalf of an international contractor on a residential development in the UK.
Representing a main contractor on a multi-million pound extension of time claim relating to a ground-breaking medical treatment facility project.
