Helen advises on all aspects of the resolution of commercial disputes and has extensive experience of litigation in the High Court and the Court of Appeal. She also advises on alternative dispute resolution, including arbitration and mediation.
Helen acts on the defence of high value and complex claims against large law firms and also advises on regulatory investigations and disciplinary issues.
She also acts on international banking and finance disputes and corporate and commercial disputes, including shareholder disputes, joint venture disputes, partnership disputes and misrepresentation claims.
Helen has written articles on legal issues published in Commercial Litigation Journal, New Law Journal and Solicitors Journal, and speaks regularly on professional liability and risk management issues.
Experience
Acting extensively in professional negligence actions defending claims brought against law firms, including claims involving structured finance, pensions, property and trust issues and claims brought in arbitration
Advising law firms in connection with regulatory investigations and conduct issues
Advising insurers on policy coverage issues
Acting for a German financial institution in the defence of claims arising out of structured finance transactions
Advising banks and counterparties in derivatives disputes and in relation to claims for breach of duty, misrepresentation, mis-selling and LIBOR manipulation
Advising on disputes in relation to Jersey trusts, including seeking directions with regard to the future administration of settlements
Acting in disputes arising out of breaches of distribution agreements and other contractual arrangements
Advising on questions of contractual interpretation, including in the context of structured finance documentation
Advising on joint venture and partnership disputes and disputes involving shareholder agreements
Advising on letters of request and obtaining orders with regard to examination
