Victoria Peckett is a Partner in the Clyde & Co London office and joined the firm in 2022.

She advises a wide cross-section of the construction and engineering industry on the drafting and negotiation of complex construction contracts for a broad range of projects both international and domestic. She has experience of working with most of the main suites of contract including FIDIC, NEC and JCT as well as working with bespoke contracts, and has been working extensively on alliancing and incentive regimes over the past few years.

She has extensive experience of assisting clients with the resolution of disputes (both before and after the commencement of proceedings), including through adjudication, DABs, arbitration, litigation and mediation.

She also has extensive experience of international construction work in sub-Saharan Africa, as well as in the LatAm region.

Victoria also chairs the drafting committee of the Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT), one of the main suites of standard construction contracts in the UK.

She is regularly ranked as a leading lawyer in directories such as Legal 500 and Chambers and speak at conferences such as the FIDIC conferences in Africa and Latin America.

  • Construction disputes (power/renewables) – advising an international OEM on disputes relating to delays and disruption to a hydropower refurbishment project
  • Construction contracts drafting (power/renewables) – advising contractors on the drafting and negotiation of contracts for the construction of EV battery gigafactories in the North of England
  • Construction disputes – advising a concession company under a PFI regime on disputes relating to defects and claims against the D&C contractor in respect of them
  • Construction contracts drafting (transport) – advising contractors on their contracts for the HS2 rail project
  • Construction contracts drafting and disputes – advising both owners and contractors on cladding claims and on the impact of the Building Safety Act 2022
  • Construction contracts drafting (defence) – advising AWE in relation to its contracts for the construction of manufacturing facilities at its sites in the UK
