Tom Parkin is an Associate in Clyde & Co’s Dispute Resolution Group, based in the Dubai office. He is an English-qualified solicitor who has practised in Dubai since 2020. His practice focuses on commercial litigation and international arbitration. He acts for high-profile corporate and individual clients and government bodies in complex, high-value, and often multi-jurisdictional disputes across a range of industries, with particular experience in the energy, media, construction, education, and manufacturing sectors.

Tom joined Clyde & Co in April 2024. Before that, he worked at international law firms in the UK and UAE.

Experience

Prior to joining Clyde & Co:

  • Acting for an international broadcaster in an LCIA arbitration concerning a workplace transformation and modernisation project.
  • Acting for a Middle Eastern utilities company in defending a series of UNCITRAL arbitrations and expert determinations in connection with power generation and water desalination projects.
  • Acting for a regional broadcaster in a DIFC-LCIA arbitration involving claims for fraudulent misrepresentation.
  • Acting for a high net worth individual in a DIFC-LCIA arbitration arising out of an M&A transaction involving claims for fraudulent misrepresentation and breach of warranty.
  • Acting for a subcontractor in a USD 200 million DIAC arbitration concerning a landmark construction project in Dubai.
  • Acting for a construction company in relation to the insolvency of its joint venture partner.
  • Acting for a construction company in a multi-jurisdictional dispute over a major infrastructure project in the UAE, and advising on the divestment of its Middle Eastern businesses.
  • Acting for a public transport body in high value procurement litigation in the English Courts.
  • Acting for a major sports car manufacturer in a contractual dispute.
