Puja is an Associate in the Global Projects and Construction group with experience advising on both contentious and non-contentious matters. She has worked for a range of clients, including developers, employers, contractors, sub-contractors, and financial institutions. Her primary focus is on domestic and international construction disputes, as well as energy projects.

Experience

• Acting for a major UK Contractor in a liability-based Adjudication in a piling dispute, against a sub-contractor.
• Acting for a contractor for an enforcement proceeding of an Adjudication decision at the TCC, in a payment dispute.
• Acting for a major UK Contractor in a TCC litigation against local authorities in a dispute related to variation to the scope of work.
• Acting for a South American Contractor in a multi-million dispute (ICC Arbitration) with a Japanese Employer regarding delay and EOT.
• Acting for major UK Contractor in relation to post termination valuation.
• Advising UK Developers on multiple disputes relating to fire safety under the Building Safety Act.
• Acting for a Developer on the drafting of a set of amendments to the JCT DB 2016, and related collateral warranties.
• Advising a financial institution on the construction elements of funding and development agreements.
• Acting for a Developer with insolvent contractors and sub-contractors to serve termination notices and notice of assignment to the liquidators, as well as advising on building liability orders and associated companies under the Building Safety Act, 2022.
• Advising a UK Contractor on non-payment under a contract and their rights regarding the suspension of works, avoiding repudiatory breach, and termination options in the development of a commercial building.
