Hugo Prieto

Hugo is a partner of our associated office in Chile, based in Santiago and has more than 25 years of experience.  In corporate matters, Hugo has vast experience in corporate and M&A, where he is also the head of the corporate secretarial services of the firm.

In mining, he has participated in the negotiation and drafting of sale and purchase, option agreements, JV, leasing, off-take and service provision agreements in the mining sector. He is also in charge of Tecnomin, a company that provides mining property services to Chilean and foreign clients.

Real estate. Mr. Prieto also has a significant experience advising on legal matters regarding the planning and operation of real estate businesses. He has actively counselled in processes of acquisition, financing, leasing and disposition of properties, as well as in the previous due diligence processes.

Experience

• Support to Inversiones Nueva Korlaet SpA on the sale of 10 supermarkets and 6 commercial stores in the cities of Antofagasta and Calama to Patio Comercial, which is one of the leading actors in the Chilean shopping malls and retail markets. 
• Continuous legal advice to Movicenter, the largest automobile mall in Chile. 
• Acting through Tecnomin in the execution of the exploration concessions for BHP in Chile.
• Counsel to Bridgestone Mining Solutions Latin America S.A. in the negotiation of significant contracts for the supply of Off-The-Road Tires to many of the largest mining projects in Chile. 
• Counsel to Compañía Minera Milena Chile Ltda. in the JV agreement signed with Chile Fortescue SpA for the development of a project in Vicuña, Fourth Region, Chile.
