Flavia advises insurers and reinsurers on a broad range of international energy and marine insurance matters. She regularly acts for (re)insurers on complex coverage issues and disputes in the upstream, downstream, renewables and marine sectors, including liability policies and subrogated recoveries, as well as advising on policy wording. In addition to traditional oil and gas, her experience includes onshore and offshore wind, solar, battery storage, hydro and mining.
Flavia also advises international energy contractors on large scale contractual disputes in various jurisdictions around the world, with a particular focus on construction disputes arising on onshore and offshore energy projects.
Flavia has extensive dispute resolution experience including litigation, mediation and negotiation under English law and foreign law, acting for (re)insurers and international clients. She also has specialist expertise in international arbitration, regularly conducting arbitral proceedings both ad hoc and under a variety of institutional rules, including ICC, LCIA, ARIAS and LMAA.
Flavia is bilingual, speaking Italian and English.

- Advising on coverage for physical damage and business interruption at a solar farm arising from a significant weather event in the UAE.
- Advising insurers on physical damage and delay in start-up claim at a BESS facility in the UK.
- Advising insurers in relation to BI claim relating to the allocation of carbon credits under the EU Emissions Trading System.
- Acting for insurers in ARIAS arbitration proceedings relating to BI claims brought by three onshore windfarms further to joint failures in an underground 38kV cable in Ireland.
- Advising on coverage for corrosion damage to a waste heat boiler at an ammonia plant in Pakistan.
- Advising on BI coverage in relation to curtailment of power transmission following fibre optic and power core failures of an export cable at an offshore windfarm off the coast of Wales.
- Advising on contingent BI coverage and subrogation in relation to an explosion at a petrochemical plant in Spain.
- Representing insurers in the USD 1.3 billion Commercial Court case regarding coverage for the YME Platform North Sea loss being defended on various coverage grounds.
- Advising EPC contractors on the merits of variation requests and other entitlements under EPC contracts.
- Acting for international EPC contractor in ICC and LCIA arbitrations arising from commercial disputes on projects for the development of a gas booster station and the design, engineering and construction of an oil and gas early production facility and sulphur granulation plant in the Middle East, involving complex technical issues as well as delay/ disruption claims.
