Sharon is a partner in our London office. She has experience in advising on all issues resulting from recent and non-recent allegations of abuse, in particular allegations of child sexual abuse.
This advice covers voluntary compensation/redress schemes, responding to civil claims/litigation and wider advice on all aspects of safeguarding.
Sharon is nominated by many insurers, faith organisations, independent schools, public bodies and charities to deal with their most sensitive claims and has experience of managing abuse claims across all sectors including religious, charity and education including several group litigation abuse claims.
Her specialism is voluntary compensation/redress schemes, which has come about due to her role as the sole solicitor to the Irish Redress Board since 2003 where she has overseen the completion of 16,650 applications and redress of GBP 953 million being paid out by the Irish State.
Prior to commencing practice in the UK in 2016 Sharon had extensive experience in litigation in Ireland, mainly in the High Court in the defence personal injury claims. Her expertise included matters of motor liability, employers' liability and public liability.
Additionally, Sharon boasts extensive experience in employment law, healthcare, board governance and compliance. She was also nominated by the Department of Health in Ireland to act as a non-executive director for Saolta University Healthcare Group.
