Jack has experience in international arbitration and is a general litigation lawyer with experience across a range of commercial arbitrations and court disputes.

Jack has particular experience in complex disputes arising from product liability claims, mass tort claims in the US involving US based pharmacies arising from the opioid epidemic and international trade and commodity disputes that have occurred in different countries around the world.

Jack also has experience in advising clients about the anti-suit injunction procedure brought in the Commercial Court, particularly relating to litigation commenced in the US and in breach of arbitration agreements.

In addition, Jack also has experience in construction disputes and experience in professional indemnity disputes (lawyers and accountants) as well as health and safety related disputes and investigations.

Jack qualified in New Zealand acting on a range of cases at leading law firms before moving to the UK in 2022. 

Experience
  • Acting for an insurer in an arbitration regarding a coverage dispute related to the legal liability of a successor company upon acquiring a company that was subsequently found guilty of wrongdoing in the US.
  • Acting for an insurer in an arbitration regarding USD 140 million worth of lost gold bullion and silver.  
  • Acting for a global property management client in the UK Commercial Court concerning an alleged breach of tenancy agreement.
  • Successfully acting for the Claimants in an urgent anti-suit injunction application involving proceedings commenced in the US. 
  • Advising insurers in relation to the US opioid epidemic involving large insurance coverage towers and financial modelling analysis.
  • In New Zealand, acting for a global accountancy firm in High Court proceedings concerning claims of negligence and breach of contract.  The quantum involved was NZD $150 million.
  • In New Zealand, acting for a prominent NZ company in proceedings brought by another large NZ based  company in respect of the sale of shares worth NZD $22 million.
