David is a Senior Associate in the Projects & Construction group in our Santiago office since February 2023.
David has extensive experience advising owners, sponsors, EPC contractors, and state-owned companies on international construction claims and disputes, in the mining, infrastructure, and energy sectors. David has also acted in international commercial and investor-state arbitrations, related to infrastructure, energy, and post M&A disputes under ICSID and ICC rules.

David has an LL.M from the New York University School of Law and is admitted to practice law in Colombia. 
 

  • Representing a foreign investor in an investment arbitration under ICSID rules against a Latin American State, related to the indirect expropriation of an infrastructure project, valued over US$1.3 billion.
  • Representing a Latin American EPC contractor in an international commercial arbitration under ICC rules, related to the revamping of an oil refinery valued over US$4 billion.
  • Advising a Latin American commodities company in an international commercial arbitration under ICC rules, related to a post-M&A dispute arising from a sale of shares valued over US$200 million.
  • Representing a foreign investor in an investment arbitration under UNCITRAL rules against a Latin American State related to the indirect expropriation of a cement project, valued over US$300 million.
  • Representing a U.S. investor in an investment arbitration under ICSID rules against a Latin American State, related to the indirect expropriation of a parking concession, valued over US$50 million.
  • Advising the lenders in the assessment of claims brought by the EPC contractor against the owner of a renewable energy project in Latin America.
