Wai regularly advises major international insurers on disputes and claims under life and non-life policies, including employee's compensation, public liability, motor, professional indemnity and liability policies. She has extensive litigation experience, including defending personal injury claims with complexity and large claim amount, claims of sexual harassment, wrongful dismissal and discrimination, handling commercial disputes, cyber fraud recovery, debt recovery and bankruptcy proceedings. She also handles regulatory disputes.      

Wai provides advice to clients on a broad range of insurance issues (both life and non-life), including trust, assignment, insurable interest, material non-disclosure, repudiation of policies and competing claims. She also has experience in non-contentious work, such as drafting and reviewing insurance policies and other agreements.

Wai is admitted to the roll of Solicitors in England and Wales. She joined Clyde & Co in September 2014 as a trainee solicitor with trainings in the Construction and Projects, Insurance Litigation (Personal Injuries and Professional Indemnity), Commercial Litigation and Marine Departments.

She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Hong Kong and is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

  • Act for life insurer to defend claim for death proceeds in the sum of US$15 million brought by the beneficiary
