Courtney Logli represents insurers in high-exposure and complex coverage disputes. Her practice primarily involves environmental, property damage, business interruption and bad faith claims under general liability, first-party property and recall and contamination policies. 

Courtney routinely counsels clients on litigation strategy and provides clients with coverage advice and opinions. This includes advice with respect to the extent of the duty to defend underlying claims, trigger of coverage and breach of policy conditions. Courtney also frequently speaks and presents on coverage litigation issues and strategy.

  • Obtained dismissal of USD multi-million dollar claim for lost artwork on behalf of fine art insurer. 
  • Served as counsel for entire market of insurers regarding high exposure recall and contamination matter.
  • Obtained various dismissals and summary judgment on behalf of commercial property insurer in numerous declaratory judgment and breach of contract actions brought by policyholders related to Covid-19 business interruption losses in state and federal courts across the country.
  • Served as counsel for insurer in matters before Illinois appellate court where the dismissal was affirmed based on contamination exclusion, microorganism exclusion, law or ordinance exclusion and lack of direct physical loss or damage.
  • Served as counsel for insurer in connection with coverage litigation involving nature and extent of communicable disease coverage for Covid-19 related losses.
  • Obtained voluntary dismissal of claim on behalf of builder’s risk insurer.
  • Represented excess insurance carriers in extensive trial involving USD millions of dollars in coverage for long-tail asbestos claims which ultimately resulted in ruling in favor of insurers.
